TOP 10 : My List of the Top 30 EDM Tracks of 2014

First of all,

I hope I'm still not too late, of course, AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, 2014 is an amazing year for the EDM Scene. I shall summarize this year as the Big Room Progressive House Future Deep House Year as the tracks are changing and evolving endlessly.

Last year I did a list of My Top 15 EDM Tracks and you can check that list right over:

Please bear in mind this list is extremely difficult to make. If you are a EDM Lover, you will definitely find all EDM tracks addictive and fucking beautiful to listen to, so it is very hard to select just 30 tracks out of all the other amazing tracks that've released this year. So, if your favorite tracks are not in this list, please remember that this is list if solely based on my own personal opinions.

Well, just cut off the craps and head straight to the point shall we?

But before I start off my list, I will rank these tracks according to a few rules down below:

-No vocal edits (Sorry to Koala and Bodytalk)

-No remixes, edits and bootlegs

-Does not include tracks that are not yet released

And here are a few honorable mentions that did not make it into my glorious list:

Right after Fedde's release of "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit" in 2006, his fame skyrocketed and has since been a solid DJ in the EDM scene, and this track is fucking bomb!

29. Above & Beyond - We're All We Need (ft. Zoë Johnston)

Hauntingly mesmerizing vocal with that beautiful beat, Above & Beyond always gets it done. #Sun&Moon

26. Galantis - Runaway

Their unique progressive style is what makes them so popular this year. Can't wait to see what can they bring to the scene next year. Do check out their another awesome track "You".

25. Sick Individuals - Wasting Moonlight

The clear example of a track that combines beautiful vocal and fantastic progressive drop.

24. Nicky Romero & Vicetone - Let Me Feel (ft. When We Are Wild)

I have to admit when I first listened to this track, I wasn't very fond of it but right after a few days of repeating it, it grows onto me and it is definitely very beautiful.

23. Gareth Emery -U (ft. Bo Bruce)

Released right at the beginning of this year, I was all hyped when this first came out. Gareth Emery brings the word "Beautiful Trance" to a whole new level.

22. Deadmau5 - Avaritia

Just groove to the fucking beat, Joel is in the fucking mau5 house!

21. Paris Blohm & Taylr Renee - Left Behinds

Taylr Renee's voice is always so fucking powerful and combines with that insane drop, this track is out of this world!

20. Cash Cash - Surrender

Cash Cash is fucking back!

19. R3hab & Deorro - Flashlight

I've said it multiple times and I will say it again, THIS TRACK IS FUCKING AWESOME! I lost count with how many times I've heard it this year during festivals and clubs. And when this track comes up, everyone will fucking go insane! Ahhh, I miss those feelings.

18. Tep No - Lana Del Dre

Can someone tell me what genre is this? Chill progressive step house? This track is so damn addictive.

17. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike & Martin Garrix - Tremor

Probably the biggest big room track of the year, and when this drops in a big stage, I swear everyone jumps insanely! #BANGER

16. Showtek & Ookay - Bouncer

The best Showtek's track from the recent years. Big Room Bounce + Trap is always so damn good. If you dig this kind of stuff, do check out this track too: Marnik - Gladiators.

15. Sander van Doorn, Martin Garrix & DVBBS - Goldskies

Big producers = Big track.

14. KSHMR & DallasK - Burn

KSHMR is love, KSHMR is life, KSHMR is burning bright!

13. Tom Swoon, Paris & Simo - Wait

Tom Swoon always make the most generic progressive drop sounds so special and beautiful. This track is an absolute magic!

12. Michael Calfan - Prelude

I have nothing to say about this stunning track. All I can say is, Michael Calfan's unique style will make him huge one day.

11. Vicetone - United We Dance

Let's rise for the anthem of the year!

10. Julian Jordan - Angels x Demons

Julian Jordan 1 - 0 Martin Garrix

9. DubVision & Feenixpawl - Destination

"Like a flame in my firestation, you are my destination."

Axtone Records is on fire this year!

8. Alesso - Heroes

Alesso's debut album is coming soon next year, buckle up guys!

7. Avicii - The Days

Just when I thought this will be year without Avicii, he then releases this fucking track.

THIS. FUCKING. TRACK. That goosebumping drop near the end of the song and the voice of Robbie Williams, perfection. Do check out "The Nights" as well and I can't wait for his album to drop next year.

6. Deorro - Five Hours

Probably the most unique track of the year, Deorro always has that magical power to make his listeners bounce non-stop to his tracks. Do listen to the vocal version of this track as well.

5. Seven Lions - Don't Leave (ft. Ellie Goulding)

It's a shame I missed out such a great DJ last year along with his amazing track "Strangers". This year he made another masterpiece and has Ellie Goulding as the vocalist. This is sensational.

4. Hardwell - Young Again (ft. Chris Jones)

This is why he is Number 1.

3. Steve Angello, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman - Payback

Probably the most favored track by the crowds this year. Whenever you ask the question "What do you think is the best track of this year?" You will definitely get the same answers from everyone, "Steve Angello - Payback". This bomb right here is pure progressive house gold.

Okay, the last two tracks are one of the hardest decisions that I've have to make this year.

These two tracks are equally amazing, beautiful and will definitely stay in my heart for a very long time in my life. My body is ready, are you? Let's reveal the final two.

2. Deniz Koyu - To The Sun

This progressive masterpiece deserves way more attention. Axtone Records is just releasing amazing track right after amazing track this year.

I've ran out of words to describe this song.

ahhhh, such a wonderful year for the EDM scene.

It is growing with rapid speed and it's bigger than ever.
A lot of young talents and experienced veterans are showing their skills in the scene and I hereby introduce my list of the top 10 DJs of this year.

I will rank them according to a few rules:

-My personal preferences

-Quality of tracks they've released this year

-Quality of their livesets they've played this year

-Popularity

-Their styles

Before I start my countdown, as usual, here are a few honorable mentions that didn't make it into my list.

 All I can say is that Galantis have impressed me throughout these years.
Their progressive style alongside with that unique voice that is sing in every of their songs are really mesmerizing.

Probably one of the oldest DJ on the scene now.
Tiesto has always been respected by others, and during these few years he has been slowly expanding his genres into Progressive House, Electro and even Big-Room. One of his biggest releases this year is definitely his album " A Town Called Paradise".

8. DubVision

This dutch duo is on fire these years with all the amazing melodic progressive house releases.

Definitely looking forward to the next year and see what they can bring to the scene.

7. Vicetone

Ruben and Victor from Netherlands have always been unique with their tracks.

It's like when you first listen to a track without knowing who the DJs are, you can definitely tell that the sound is Vicetone.

6. Deorro

All the way from the Panda Funk family, Deorro is one of the biggest rising star this year.

With his debut in the DJ Mag Top 100 List, he came in at the 19th spot.

With his signature sound, you will find yourself bouncing to his tracks all night long.

5. Steve Angello

The mastermind behind the growing Size Recordings and one of the trios in Swedish House Mafia, this man right here needs no introduction.

Also known as Niles Hollowell-Dhar, you may know him as one of the duos in the group The Cataracs. Rumour has it that this genius right here ghostproduced tracks for DVBBS, Ummet Ozcan and other DJs. Oh yeah, this guy will become big one day, mark my words.

3. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike

This Belgian Duo needs no introduction. Their livesets are arguably the most exciting ones among all the big music festivals, and grabbing the 2nd Spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 List this year, they are bigger than ever. And please, release all the remaining tracks from the Tomorrowland 2013 Aftermovie, thank you.

1. Porter Robinson

All the way from North Carolina, Porter Robinson is on fire this year.

With his release of the album of the year for me "Worlds", I've never witnessed such amazing unique sounds from a DJ. All I can say is that, if you don't know anything about this guy, do look him up and be sure to give "Worlds" a listen. You will fall in love.

Kelvin's Recommended Tracks: His entire "Worlds" album, especially Sad Machine, Lionhearted, Divinity and Years of War.

Normally I don't dig boybands at all but I gotta give props to this song as it is really fucking addictive. YEAH YOU!

6. John Legend - All Of Me

Hands down the most romantic love song of 2014. No one can beat that soulful voice of John Legend.

5. Ariana Grande - Break Free (ft. Zedd)

I have no words to describe this song. Ariana Grande's great voice, that pretty and cute face, and that Zedd's signature drop at the end. THIS. IS. PERFECT.

4. Clean Bandit - Rather Be (ft. Jess Glynne)

The more I watch this music video, the more I wanna travel to Japan and visit those beautiful places. Those "Lost In Translation" feels are all coming back to me.

3. Duke Dumont - I Got U (ft. Jax Jones)

Definitely the best deep house track of the year, hands down no questions.

And this music video! This goddamn music video!

2. Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud

Ed Sheeran is definitely becoming bigger and bigger. This talented ginger I likey.

Finally, the lists that all of you readers are waiting for (Well, if I still have any loyal readers).
These lists are definitely an annual thing for me to do during the end of every year.

Firstly, how do I define a bad song?
Well, for me, a bad song is when it is annoying as fuck, repetitive, meaningless, bullshit lyrics that are all about money, bitches, boozes. The 10 songs below are to me the worst songs of this year.

10. One Republic - Love Runs Out

To be honest, this is the first One Republic's song that I've ever hate in my life.
To me this song is a rip-off of Kanye West's Love Lockdown.

One of the worst if not the worst Maroon 5's song ever.

I felt like all Adam Levine did here was to force a good song out of a mediocre song and trying to be all emotional about it.

8. Taylor Swift - Shake It Off

Taylor Swift, why? I might sound like a nostalgicfag here, but I want the old you back!

7. Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass

Until this very day I still wonder what's so good about this song?

TOP 10 : My Top 10 Favourite Pokemons in Hoenn (Gen 3)

Yeah, I'm 21 and I still blog, about Pokemons.
I am always a huge fan of Pokemon and the only thing that I am feeling ashamed right now is that I didn't have the chance to play the latest Pokemon X and Y. Since I don't have a Nintendo 3DS, and there are still no sights of cracked emulators and ROMs, I guess I just have to wait patiently for a few more years for this to happen.

Once again here's another list of my Top 10 Favourite Pokemons, and this time its from the Hoenn Region, almost everyone's childhood. I can say that Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald are the versions that most of us have played, and those were the good ol' days.

There are rules that I've implemented to my choices of the Pokemons, the rules are below:
-I will only pick the final evolution or that single Pokemon, I won't put Pokemon that aren't fully evolved into the list.

10. Ludicolo

After watching Chuggaaconroy's Pokemon Emerald Let's Play, I've started to pay more attention to this Water/Grass sombrero-wearing weird-looking Pokemon. Ludicolo is here to wreck shit up!

9. Milotic

Do you believe in fairy tale? Milotic is like the female version of Gyarados. Evolved from the ugly-looking Feebas, they definitely doesn't look the same. The only difference is that Feebas is so fucking hard to find and catch!

8. Aggron

Motherfucking Aggron, so badass, and so slowwwwww. Aggron is one of the first six starters of my first Pokemon Ruby playthrough. But its speed is so damn slow it makes me wanna rip my hair off.

7. Altaria

 Well, Gen 3 sure has its fair share of Dragon Pokemons. And Altaria is one of them. I remember first facing against the Gym Leader Winona in the amazing Fortree City and she sent out this motherfucking fluffy bird. I tried using Electric moves on it and I was like "WHY THE FUCK THIS BIRD IS NOT WEAK AGAINST ELECTRIC?" Ohhh all these memories.

6. Salamence

I know I know, you guys saw this coming. Salamence is definitely a popular pick when it comes to everyone's favourite pokemons of the 3rd Generation. It is yet another Dragon/Flying Pokemon, and look at it, it is just exerting sheer badass-ness.

5. Absol

Well, I never know about how strong this Pokemon it until I watch the Let's Play by Chuggaaconroy. According to the PokeDex, it is known as the Disaster Pokemon because whenever Absol appears, bad things are going to happen. Now that's badass.

4. Blaziken

I hereby announce Blaziken is the most mainstream Pokemon of the 3rd Generation. Don't lie, all of you picked Torchic as your starter right?

3. Flygon

Based on my opinion, Flygon is definitely the weakest Dragon Pokemon out of all the others in the 3rd Generation. But still, I wanna say thank you for serving me as a trustworthy companion during my Pokemon Black adventure.

2. Gardevoir

 If your team doesn't has a Gardevoir in it, then you are not a player of the 3rd Generation. Everyone has their own Gardevoir, this is a universal rule, DON'T FUCKING BREAK IT!

1. META-FUCKING-GROSS!

Seriously, you can't get anymore awesome and badass than Metagross.
It has its own Facebook page, its own devoted fanbase.
Everything about Metagross is just awesome.
The only downside about it was that why you can only obtain it after finishing the storyline of the game?
WHY? I wanna wreck shit up with a Metagross during my first playthrough.
So ladies and gentlemen, prepare your anus, because METAGROSS is coming to town!

Hey readers!

Well, since it's more than a month after my last update, I guess its time to do another movie review again.

This time, I'm going for the big one.

Godzilla

Review Title: Let Them Fight

After waiting for such a long time, I can definitely say that this movie doesn't disappoint me at all.

If you are looking for a movie that gives you fantastic-storytelling and great character development, no, this is not what you are looking for. But if you want an insanely-epic and heart-pumping monster movie, this is perhaps one of the best, if not the best monster movie for you.

The main character of this movie is Godzilla itself as it is a fucking beast, tearing shits apart and his enemies, the MUTOs are developed believably and logically too. Best part was when Godzilla used his signature Atomic Breathe, epicness was flowing through my veins during that very moment.

I have to give a nod to the director Gareth Edwards for setting the right standards and letting Godzilla played out like how it truly was. I'm not a big Godzilla fan, but at least I knew some facts about Godzilla and how it works, so the 1998's version by Roland Emmerich is nothing compared to this because that Godzilla looks like pussy comparing with this.

As expected, the CGI in this movie is superb. So much better than Transformers and Pacific Rim combined.

From the first Godzilla movie from Japan in 1954 until 2014, we have come a long way.

Rating : 9/10

9 Years

It's been 9 years.
All the ups and downs, all the joys and tears, all the loves and hates finally came to an end.

And it's been one hell of ride.

I got to admit, this is like the only American-TV Series that I can keep catching up until today.

Mainly because it's a heartwarming and lovely comedy.

How Marshall and Lily proceed through the next stage of their lives.

How Barney eventually gotten a hold of himself.

How Robin finally becomes a world-renowned TV News-reporter.

How Ted finally meet his wife.

Of course there are so many more that I didn't mention. But this is all about the experiences.

All the memorable lines, quotes, sentences spoken by the characters in the film. All the exciting and upsetting moments in the film. All the laughters I had watching this film. All the things that happened.
It's just that so many things happened in these 9 years and the crews of this show are still be able to keep them all intact and never mess it up. It's just so amazing.

About the ending though, not many people liked it. Not going to spoil it here, based on my opinion, I am actually little upset about it. Seeing how things happened in the last season, it definitely had its moments.

The ending is both sad and happy mixed up altogether. Some people liked it, some people hated it. It doesn't have to satisfy everyone.

But still, I'm glad that I stayed true to this show for the past 9 years.

Just like what Ted said in the end:

" It was at times a long, difficult road. But I'm glad it was long and difficult, because if I hadn't gone through hell to get there, the lesson might not have been as clear.  "

We are all sad that it's coming to an end.

So, appreciate all the loves you had around you and if you still hadn't watch this yet,

It's been a long time since I last updated my blog, so here I am.

Watched two Oscar-winning movies yesterday.
Gonna make a review out of both movies.

12 Years A Slave (2013)

So, this movie just won the Best Picture three days ago at the 86th Academy Awards. Tempted by it so I've decided to give it a try.

To be honest, it's not really a masterpiece in my opinion.
The story dates back to the 1840's about a free black man named Solomon Northup living with his wife and his children in New York. He was then lured by two con artists, kidnapped and sold to other states.

Upon watching this movie, I feel like it dragged way too long and there are too many unnecessary prolonging shots. Perhaps the Director (Steve McQueen) was trying to be artistic with those still shots of maybe river, sky, trees but I felt nothing but blandness. 

The acting by the Chiwetel Ejiofor is pretty decent, I can really feel his strong emotion throughout the entire movie. One thing though, it's that I just don't understand how come Lupita Nyongo's not so extradordinary performance can win her an Oscar for the Best Supporting Actress.

Other than that, the storytelling is pretty okay, not great. His interactions with his family are so little that it's forgettable throughout the film. The sudden appearance by Brad Pitt is also pretty dull and uninteresting and the movie just ends in a not so climatic way. Yes there are maybe a few suspenses here and there but it's not really a Best Picture-worthy movie.

And trust me, don't let your kids watch this movie. Quite many mature contents inside.

If you really wanna watch a movie similar to this, I suggest watching Django Unchained. That movie is way fucking better and the acting by Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and of course Leonardo DiCaprio was superb in that movie.

Overall, a 7/10 for this movie.

Second Oscar-winning movie that I've watched is this,

Lost In Translation (2003)

Lost In Translation is a movie about a faded movie star Bob Harris (Bill Murray) and a neglected newly-wed wife Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson) forming an unlikely bond during their sudden cross-paths in Tokyo, Japan.

Halfway through watching this movie I was thinking to myself that "Oh god, not other bland movie again". 

And then I realized this movie is really about the feelings and the emotions. Us as the viewers, should really kickback, relax and forgot about all our stresses in order to enjoy this movie. I always wondered why Scarlett Johansson was considered as one of the hottest actress in Hollywood, I find her not so pretty after all. But after watching this movie, my thoughts has changed. She is really beautiful in this movie, and I mean fucking beautiful. 

Bob is travelling to Japan for a few commercial-shootings whereas Charlotte is here with her newly-wed husband. Both of them are staying in the same hotel and are facing insomnia and they both felt neglected by their loved-ones. Bob occasionally talk on the phone his wife back in America but he just doesn't feel the love with his family while Charlotte's husband is leaving for work everyday, leaving her alone in the hotel room. Then one night, both of them cross-path.

The bond formed between Bob and Charlotte are not the sexual kind, instead, it's more about mutual trust and admiration. And both of their performances are fantastic I must say. Yes, it's pretty boring during some of the scenes but if you really put your heart into this movie, it's actually a great movie.

The third main point of this movie is none other than the city Tokyo itself. From the bright colors of the buildings to the noises of the crowd on the street, even the natural shrines and temples faraway from the city areas. It's all really soothing to look at.

I recommend this movie to all of you. If you are looking for a fun-time, this is not the movie for you. This is more like you trying to find yourself, trying to feel yourself by indulging yourself into the movie.

For relaxting times, make it Lost in Translation times.

In a blink of an eye, it's already March of 2014.

Halfway through my second semester in my Uni life and I must say it's pretty okay.

Assignments are not unusually hard and I'm handling it well.

Don't worry, I won't let this blog go idle.
