TOP 10 : My List of the Top 10 DJs of 2015

Sorry for the late post, been working some part-times lately and still looking for jobs after graduating from my university.

Well, after like a one year pause from blogging, I'm back since last month and started posting some Top10s again, which is definitely my favorite title to blog. 

Without further adieu, here's my list of the Top 10 DJs of the year 2015.

(This man right here needs no introduction, releasing countless epic hits, 2015 is definitely another one of his reigning years after releasing his second studio album "Stories"
Otto Knows

"Next To Me" is enough to make him love by all the people around the world. Not to mention his Tomorrowland 2015 Set is pretty sick as well.

Tom Swoon

The master of upbeating progressive house drops, this guy right here is an underrated gem in the EDM scene.

Wiwek

Creating a whole new genre named "Jungle Terror", revamping the EDM industry and causing hundreds of thousands of people banging their heads off to his drops, this guy is gonna rise soon.

DJ Snake

The man behind several instant hits of 2015, his track "Middle" is absolutely beautiful.

Now, let's get to the real Top 10 list.

10. DON DIABLO

Unique progressive and future house beats as well as drops, catchy vocals, amazing tracks and livesets, this man right here had been working his ass off for the entire 2015 and keep on dropping dope tracks right after another dope tracks, gotta give kudos to him for being able to do that.

Recommended Tracks: Universe, Chemicals, On My Mind, Got The Love, I'll House You and etc.

9. STEVE ANGELLO

The mastermind behind most of the melodic beats of Swedish House Mafia. His album "Wild Youth" is definitely his ultimate prize of working so hard for these few years. Until this day, I am still hoping that SHM is coming back together. And that day my friend, is the day that will change the world forever.

Recommended Tracks: Remember, Children of the Wild, The Ocean and etc.

8. ZEDD

Releasing several instant mainstream hits for the past few years, 2015 is no exception for him. Also releasing his second studio album "True Colors", quite a few of his tracks have garnered huge popular followings and hits in 2015.

Recommended Tracks: Beautiful Now, Papercut, Addicted To A Memory, Done With Love and etc.

7. KYGO

Finally, 2015 is the ultimate breakthrough year for Kygo. The first artist to reach 1 billion plays on Spotify, and being able to perform during the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, this tropical house and deep house mastermind is winning the EDM scene's hearts.\

Recommended Tracks: Stole The Show, Nothing Left, Stay, Here For You and etc.

6. JACK Ü

Diplo x Skrillex = Epicness x Awesomeness.

Their liveset is still in one of the must-watch-shit in my bucketlist. When they perform and when they bring the atmosphere to the highest point, shits about to get real.

Recommended Tracks: Take Ü There, Mind, To Ü, Jungle Bae, Beats Knockin and etc.

5. ABOVE & BEYOND

16 years, 16 fucking years since they've came together.

All I can say is that, I will regret my life for missing their live here in Kuala Lumpur since I am at UK during that time. Still hoping for the day of their comeback performance back here again in KL.

These three guys, are, legends.

4. MARTIN GARRIX

Being able to conquer the EDM scene and won the hearts of millions of fans around the world, Martin Garrix had outdone himself once again this year. Proving he is not just a one-hit-wonder kid with the track "Animals". He's been reinventing his own style from a big-room whore into a whole new progressive-house dimension that only Martin Garrix can exist. His KL Live set is some of the most amazing things that I've ever witnessed in my life, and I look forward to his releases in this year.

Recommended Tracks: Dragon, Forbidden Voices, Bouncybob, Poison, Break Through The Silence, The Only Way Is Up and etc. 

3. KSHMR

Another year, another epic year for KSHMR. I will keep this short:

KINGSHMR is LOVE, KINGSHMR is GOD.

Recommended tracks: Secrets, Memories, Bazaar, Jammu, The Spook, Strong, Imaginate, Heaven and etc.

2. AXWELL /\ INGROSSO

That night in Creamfields, I've witnessed in which is probably the second best set of my life (The first being Porter Robinson's World Liveset). Their passions, energies that are exerting out from them, are fucking unbelievable. With Axwell's constantly pumping the crowd's energy from zero to hundred and Sebastian Ingrosso's seriousness during his mixing, this is why they are the best duo in the scene right, fucking, now.

And please, kindly get back together with Steve Angello, that would be really really great. Thanks.

Another year, another great year of musics.

And here I present to you, my personal list of my favorite 10 songs of 2015, all in order.

10. Kendrick Lamar - Alright

"Nigga we gon' be alright!"

9. Justin Bieber - Sorry

I have mixed feelings this year regarding to Justin Bieber's new album. Yes, I dislike him and his overall personality and that fucked-up cocky attitude, but you can't deny that he had released probably his best tracks and best album of his life. His songs are fire, and "Sorry" is definitely the most fire out of all.

8. James Bay - Let It Go

After "Hold Back The River", James Bay released yet another goddamn great song.

7. Jess Glyne - Don't Be So Hard On Yourself

"Learn to forgive, learn to let go."

6. The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face

Probably one of the most iconic and revolutionary song of the year. That Michael Jackson-esque progression and the vocal of The Weeknd is fucking amazing. If you don't love this song, there is definitely some problem with your head.

5. Troye Sivan - Wild

The first part of Troye's trilogy music video film "Blue Neighbourhood". This kid is fucking amazing and he is definitely going places. An official "out of the closet" Youtuber turned singer, he caught my eyes this year and I am instantly a new fan. Keep on making great musics Troye.

4. Naughty Boy - Runnin' (ft. Beyonce & Arrow Benjamin)

Probably the best music video of the year. 

JUST. FUCKING. BEAUTIFUL.

3. Oh Wonder - Landslide

Around October of 2015, I stumbled upon Oh Wonder on Sheepy. Their unique mellow-ish and groovy combined vocals and their mesmerizing yet beautiful alternative-pop electronic-ish calming-ish tracks are some of the bests that I've ever listened. I am confident to say that Oh Wonder's album "Oh Wonder" is definitely the best album of 2015.

2. Zara Larsson & MNEK - Never Forget You

If Naughty Boy's "Runnin'" is the best music video of 2015, then this music video comes second with no hesitation from me. Oh yeah, did I mentioned that Zara Larsson's vocal is so hypnotizing?

2014,
ahhhh, such a wonderful year for the EDM scene.

It is growing with rapid speed and it's bigger than ever.
A lot of young talents and experienced veterans are showing their skills in the scene and I hereby introduce my list of the top 10 DJs of this year.

I will rank them according to a few rules:

-My personal preferences

-Quality of tracks they've released this year

-Quality of their livesets they've played this year

-Popularity

-Their styles

Before I start my countdown, as usual, here are a few honorable mentions that didn't make it into my list.

From left to right in no particular order:

Oliver Heldens

-Sudden surge in popularity due to his interesting future house tracks like Koala and Gecko

Mako

-Two rising stars in the progressive house scene with their amazing melodic tracks.

Seven Lions

-Chillstep at its bests.

Arty

-Went to his show in Gravity Club, it was fucking amazing.

Calvin Harris

-Probably one of the most famous DJ now.

 All I can say is that Galantis have impressed me throughout these years.
Their progressive style alongside with that unique voice that is sing in every of their songs are really mesmerizing.

Probably one of the oldest DJ on the scene now.
Tiesto has always been respected by others, and during these few years he has been slowly expanding his genres into Progressive House, Electro and even Big-Room. One of his biggest releases this year is definitely his album " A Town Called Paradise".

8. DubVision

This dutch duo is on fire these years with all the amazing melodic progressive house releases.

Definitely looking forward to the next year and see what they can bring to the scene.

7. Vicetone

Ruben and Victor from Netherlands have always been unique with their tracks.

It's like when you first listen to a track without knowing who the DJs are, you can definitely tell that the sound is Vicetone.

6. Deorro

All the way from the Panda Funk family, Deorro is one of the biggest rising star this year.

With his debut in the DJ Mag Top 100 List, he came in at the 19th spot.

With his signature sound, you will find yourself bouncing to his tracks all night long.

5. Steve Angello

The mastermind behind the growing Size Recordings and one of the trios in Swedish House Mafia, this man right here needs no introduction.

4. KSHMR

Also known as Niles Hollowell-Dhar, you may know him as one of the duos in the group The Cataracs. Rumour has it that this genius right here ghostproduced tracks for DVBBS, Ummet Ozcan and other DJs. Oh yeah, this guy will become big one day, mark my words.

3. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike

This Belgian Duo needs no introduction. Their livesets are arguably the most exciting ones among all the big music festivals, and grabbing the 2nd Spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 List this year, they are bigger than ever. And please, release all the remaining tracks from the Tomorrowland 2013 Aftermovie, thank you.

2. Alesso

Alesso remains in my heart the best progressive house DJ out there.

No one can replace him and I definitely can't wait for his debut album next year.

1. Porter Robinson

All the way from North Carolina, Porter Robinson is on fire this year.

With his release of the album of the year for me "Worlds", I've never witnessed such amazing unique sounds from a DJ. All I can say is that, if you don't know anything about this guy, do look him up and be sure to give "Worlds" a listen. You will fall in love.

Kelvin's Recommended Tracks: His entire "Worlds" album, especially Sad Machine, Lionhearted, Divinity and Years of War.

7. The Vamps & Demi Lovato - Somebody To You

Normally I don't dig boybands at all but I gotta give props to this song as it is really fucking addictive. YEAH YOU!

6. John Legend - All Of Me

Hands down the most romantic love song of 2014. No one can beat that soulful voice of John Legend.

5. Ariana Grande - Break Free (ft. Zedd)

I have no words to describe this song. Ariana Grande's great voice, that pretty and cute face, and that Zedd's signature drop at the end. THIS. IS. PERFECT.

4. Clean Bandit - Rather Be (ft. Jess Glynne)

The more I watch this music video, the more I wanna travel to Japan and visit those beautiful places. Those "Lost In Translation" feels are all coming back to me.

3. Duke Dumont - I Got U (ft. Jax Jones)

Definitely the best deep house track of the year, hands down no questions.

And this music video! This goddamn music video!

2. Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud

These lists are definitely an annual thing for me to do during the end of every year.

Firstly, how do I define a bad song?
Well, for me, a bad song is when it is annoying as fuck, repetitive, meaningless, bullshit lyrics that are all about money, bitches, boozes. The 10 songs below are to me the worst songs of this year.

10. One Republic - Love Runs Out

To be honest, this is the first One Republic's song that I've ever hate in my life.
To me this song is a rip-off of Kanye West's Love Lockdown.

9. Maroon 5 - Maps

One of the worst if not the worst Maroon 5's song ever.

I felt like all Adam Levine did here was to force a good song out of a mediocre song and trying to be all emotional about it.

8. Taylor Swift - Shake It Off

Taylor Swift, why? I might sound like a nostalgicfag here, but I want the old you back!

7. Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass

Until this very day I still wonder what's so good about this song?

This bitch sings like she is going to die tomorrow or something.

6. Chris Brown, Lil' Wayne & Tyga - Loyal

Merry Belated Christmas and I hereby wish you all a Happy New Year in advance.

Yes, 2013 is a great year with great musics.

This year,
EDM a.k.a Electronic Dance Music has stepped up and brought in tons of fans from all around the world.
Radio stations started blasting these songs, dropping it like it's hot, more and more people get to learn about these musics. Sometimes, in a song, it's the beat that matters, not the chorus, not the vocal, but only the beat.

The beats and the drops are the things that unite all the EDM fans from across the globe.

---For the case of Ocarina, it is easily a Top 3 material track, but too bad it was first heard from way back 2 years ago, although the full version was released this year, I gotta disqualified it.

---Tracks like Wake Me Up, Animals and Tsunami are way too mainstream to be put into the list. Yes, they are fucking great tracks, but I avoid choosing them.

---If I add the Avicii and AvB tracks into the list, then I will have many of their tracks inside the same list. Which is unfair, because I can really fill this list with 15 tracks made by them, lol.

15. 3LAU, Paris & Simo - Escape (ft. Bright Lights)

Overall a great track.

14. Dash Berlin & Alexander Popov - Steal You Away

Straight up trance with a beautiful male voice, nothing could go wrong in a Dash Berlin's track.

13. Mako - Beam (ft. Angel Taylor)

Perhaps one of the most melodic track of the year.

12. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. Boostedkids - G.Y.P.S.Y.

DVLM strikes us with this weird yet catchy track this year. First heard in the Tomorrowland 2013 Official Aftermovie video, many of the fans anticipated for this track. 

11. Quintino & Alvaro - World In Our Hands

Seriously, where do they find all these vocalists?

10. Axwell & Sick Individuals - I Am (ft. Taylr Renee)

At first I was not very fond of this track. I think it has a pretty slow build-up. But after listening to it for quite a few times, and then it showed up in the TomorrowWorld Aftermovie, this track is fucking awesome!

9. One Republic - If I Lose Myself (Alesso Remix)

Okay, this is probably many people's most-favorited track of the year.
Beautiful voice by Ryan Tedder, epic progression, superb drop, everything is perfect here.

8. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike - Stampede

Said to be the clone of Tsunami, I think this is a better track than that.

The buildup is symphonic and the drop, fuck man the drop. Last time I heard a drop this hard was the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

7. Avicii - Hey Brother

Mainstream? Yes it is. But is it epic? FUCK YES IT IS!

Hands down the Avicii's best track of this year. Yes I said it, better than Wake Me Up for sure.

6.  R3hab, NERVO & Ummet Ozcan - Revolution

I think that the Instrumental version is better than the Vocal Edit.
And yes, when NERVO dropped this in Sepang during Thirst 2013, I felt it. In fact, the whole Sepang felt it.

5. Tiesto - Red Lights

Near the end of this year, Tiesto hit us with this.

And guess what? It earned the No.5 spot in this list, fucking nice track.

4. Cash Cash - Take Me Home (ft. Bebe Rexha)

Literally one of the most beautiful voice in an EDM track this year.

Okay, the 0:44 part is fucking beautiful, fucking fucking beautiful.

3. Cedric Gervais vs Lana Del Rey - Young And Beautiful

I wonder why the remix of Summertime Sadness is more popular than this?

This is definitely better.

2. Armin Van Buuren - This Is What It Feels Like (ft. Trevor Guthrie)

Finally I have the mood to update my bloggie. It's already been almost 20 days since I last updated.
Today I would like to talk about music artists.
As you can see, I love musics.
Musics is my remedy to almost everything, when I get sad, I listen to music. When I'm happy, I listen to music too. And throughout all these years, a lot of great musicians have emerged onto the stage, but, are they really heading uphill, or down?

1ST.

First I would like to talk about Chris Brown.

For those of you who are wondering ''Wait, why is he looking so innocent in this photo"
Maybe it's because this photo is taken like 8-9 years back.

Well, let me see, what have CB became through this 9 years of his music career?
Beating up woman? Check.

Getting into fights countless times? Check.

Acting like a soreloser and moron on the Internet? Check.

His musics is becoming shittier and shittier everyday? Check.

I mean, WHAT THE FUCK CHRIS BROWN?
Your songs used to be so damn nice, songs like ''With You'', ''Say Goodbye'', ''Run It!''.
But what about now?
He is just an artist who is constantly adding drops into his music, making every of his songs sound like EDM

to earn more money.

And why the fuck are every songs nowadays have drop?
Yea maybe because EDM is the hottest shit now so every artists have to add drops into their songs to sound cool and have swag.

Seriously, Chris Brown is slowly becoming an asshole and he is generating more haters day by day, congratulations to him!

2ND.

Next, let's move on to Rihanna.

How appropriate! After Chris Brown, we have Rihanna!
She was such a hottie back then, when she came out with her first two singles, ''S.O.S'' and ''Unfaithful'',
those were such great hits.
Then she got even better, ''Take A Bow'', ''Shut Up And Drive'', oh yeah and her best song ''Umbrella''.
Damn, but the same thing happened, she choose to become more mainstream and more pop in order to attract more teenage fans across the world.

Well, not all of her new songs are bad though, but her style had definitely changed.

And the worst thing is, she even choose to collaborate with Chris Brown and rumours about they getting back together after what he had done to her!
I mean, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU RIHANNA?
You are setting a bad examples for the teenagers.
What will they think about you?
''Oh, if Rihanna can forgive Chris Brown, I can forgive that jackass who beats me too!''
This is wrong, some people may disagree with me, but, hello!
Chris Brown beats her up pretty badly, she still choose to forgive him, and they made a song call ''Birthday Cake''.

Ermmm, don't even get me started on that shitty song.


3RD.

Flo Rida.

''LOOK MA, MY MUSIC VIDEOS HAVE SO MANY VIEWS ON YOUTUBE! I'M SO FUCKING FAMOUS!''

Man, Flo Rida, this piece of shit.
In my opinion, he has 0 talent. His only good songs are only ''Low'', now, let's talk about what that is so bad about him.

He has ruined so many fucking songs. His sampling skills is beyond godlike let me tell you.

Let's list it down:
1. Good Feeling : Sampling Etta James - Something's Gotta Hold On Me or Avicii - Levels

2. Elevator : Sampling Bruce Springsteen - Prove It All Night
3. In The Ayer : Sampling Pretty - Tony Jam The Box

4. Right Round : Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round

5. Sugar : Eiffel 65 - Blue
6. Touch Me : Benny Benassi - Satisfaction

7. I Cry : Bingo Players - Cry or Brenda Russels - Piano In The Dark

Whoa what the fuck man? Does this dude even has his own original song?
Yes, maybe ''Whistle'', that shitty song about blowjobs teaching you how to do it.

Bottom line, he is a shitty artist.

4TH. 
Well, in No.4 we have Taylor Swift.

I still remember the songs from her first album, ''Teardrops On My Guitar'' and ''Our Song'', those were some goddamn good songs.
And since then, her songs are still pretty good, pretty country. But now she takes a leap of faith and started stepping into the mainstream pop scene.
With songs like ''I Knew You Were Trouble'' and ''22'', which is barely even country and mostly pop, she changed her style. I'm hating it, those two songs were pretty good, but a lot of people didn't accept this change and I'm pretty sure she lost a lot of fans.

One thing that I need to say about this flat-chested beauty is that,
How many times have you fell in love and broke up ah?
I think you count it with your 10 fingers and your 10 toes also cannot count finish I tell you.
Please lar, just stay put in a relationship la, I'm not saying you must marry with the guy, but at least make it longer than one year lar.

Oh my fucking god, I think inside 100 songs she got 90 songs are writing about break-ups and shitty-relationships one. So,
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER TAYLOR!

5TH.
The last person that I want to talk about is Justin Bieber.

Ermmmm, not much to say about her.
She is definitely a pop sensation that has attracted over 55 million fans all around the world

Not a really bad singer, she's pretty good actually.

Can sing, can dance, nice songs.
I mean, her songs are nice,
yeaa, her songs are pretty nice,
WHEN YOU GET DRUNK, SMOKE WEED, GET HIGH, DESTROY YOUR EARDRUMS,
yea, then her songs are pretty good.

And of cause there are still a lot of music artists that I don't like,
but it will be a never-ending post if I just keep writing on and on and on.

And in here I would like to support a few artists they are pretty good and has improved a lot since their debut.

1. Kanye West
A lot of people doesn't like Kanye West, maybe he has a big ego, he is a douchebag, but you can't deny that his musics are becoming better and better. His album ''My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'' is definitely his best. If you need to listen to some good, chill and nice rap songs, he is not a bad choice.

2. Kendrick Lamar

Another very very fucking good rapper I must say. Pretty underrated here in Malaysia as none of his songs are played on the radio. Try a few of his rap songs, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

3. Imagine Dragons

If you want to listen to some alternative rock songs, Imagine Dragons is a very good choice.

4. Justin Timberlake
Did I mentioned that his new album is fucking awesome?

His new album is the finest definition of good R&B, reminds me his glory days when songs like
"Cry Me A River", ''What Goes Around Comes Around'' and etc.

This dude is just getting better and better.

5. Daft Punk

If JT's new album is fucking awesome, then Daft Punk's newest album Random Access Memories is beyond fucking awesome. That electronic, funky style of musics is just so chill and calm and makes you wanna dance to the beat even if you are driving.
Highly recommended!
